The American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, announces the availability of graduate fellowships for American Indian and Alaska Native students from federally recognized U.S. tribes.

AIGC was founded in 1969 to help open the doors to graduate education for American Indian and Alaska Native college graduates. For over thirty-five years, AIGC has awarded more than 10,000 fellowships to qualified Native American and Alaskan Native students to pursue Master's, Doctorate and professional degrees in all fields. AIGC has helped to develop many tribal and community leaders who are working professionals today. Many are leaders who are responsible for the development of programs that are vital to the well being of our tribal communities.

In the future, AIGC will award more fellowships to more graduate students. And it will provide additional educational opportunities to encourage these students to make those critical connections with Indian communities, tribal leaders, and Indian organizations to ensure their greater involvement to help rebuild strong, healthy, self-reliant American Indian and Native Alaska communities. AIGC is committed to help "pave the road back home for Indians helping Indians."
